A Posting for Susie

with updates from North America...

Yes, it has been some time since my last posting. Christmas Break has long since passed (it was wonderful, but far too short), and now we look forward to Easter Break in April.

I am back at work (for 3 weeks now), with little ones in the morning and big kids in the afternoon. 2010 is off to a good start, as the children are doing beautifully, learning and growing all the time. One of my little ones -- a girl who came to us not speaking -- had some memorable conversations in the recent weeks, including:

While putting on socks and shoes...
Adult: "Let me help you with that."
Child: "I will do it."

This conversation was especially fantastic as she had never before put together a 4-word sentence.

Workshop
The two-day ACENA workshop focusing on spina bifida/spinal injury did receive enough registrants to go ahead as scheduled. The Conductive Learning Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, will host this workshop March 18-19, 2010.

CE Awareness Day
As announced previously, the first Conductive Education Awareness Day will be held in North America on Thursday, February 25, 2010. The campaign 'kit' has already been distributed to ACENA members, and planning is underway for Awareness Day events.

ACENA Forum
ACENA has continued improvements on its website, which now includes a new forum. A simplified, more user-friendly (I hope!) forum awaits you. Please register, post, and let us know what you think!

Conductor-Teacher Education Program at Aquinas

Enrollment is still open (until the end of March) for students interested in the Conductive Education/POHI program at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Classes to begin Fall 2010.

Best wishes to everyone for a happy & healthy 2010!
